Lácteos Segarra is a family business located in Elche (Alicante), with a family history of farming. From its origins in 1986, our company began to transform the milk from our own farm into cheese, always using goat’s milk.

 

We work with love, effort and a lot of dedication to offer consumers a high-quality, flavoursome goat’s cheese made from the milk of the goats from our farm. At Lácteos Segarra we have two different brands that you can find in supermarkets. Caprillice is our main brand whose name encompasses more than 3000 years of history, and Cabrelx is our secondary brand, representing our fundamental pillars. Both reflect our main value: Quality.

We are a family-owned company with more than 20 years of experience that has grown and adapted over time to become the company it is today. Quality, transparency, integrity, perseverance, honesty, continuous training and constant teamwork are our company’s main values.

Our main mission is to continue manufacturing high quality goat’s cheese which complies with all regulations and certifications pertaining to safety, hygiene and quality for the enjoyment of families both in Spain and further afield. At present, we export to a total of 10 countries. Our future objective is to continue with this international expansion in order to make the quality and flavour of our goat’s cheese known to the rest of the world.

Future, innovation, quality

Today, we are a modern company, fully equipped to sell our wide range of goat’s cheese in both national and international markets. Our product range is split into three lines: soft goat’s cheeses, hard goat’s cheeses and pre-wrapped cheeses.

 

We have a quality control department, which oversees all processes ensuring the food safety and high quality of our products. 

 

At present, we export our products to 10 countries, among which we would like to highlight that our company is the first Spanish company to sell cheese in Japan.

Quality Lácteos Segarra

At Lácteos Segarra we are strongly committed to quality. Our quality control department carries out an exhaustive check of all our raw materials. We exclusively select the best goat’s milk from the Mediterranean area, since this is the only way a high quality product with a distinctive and unique flavour be obtained. The Murciano-Granadina goat breed, native to our area, provides the main raw ingredient of our CAPRILLICE cheeses, which, thanks to the unbeatable Mediterranean climate and the correct nutrition of the goats, ensures our cheeses have such special characteristics.

Lácteos Segarra has implemented a HACCP system (hazard analysis and critical control points) throughout the entire process, from suppliers to the end customer, ensuring quality and food safety at each point of the production chain. In addition to all these safety checks, there is also a distinction in terms of quality which applies to all our products, and goes beyond the basic requirement of food safety or security determined by the various laws that apply to us. The company has implemented a food safety management system, through two seals of quality represented by the IFS standard and the BRC protocol of recognised international prestige. These seals give added value to all our products, ensuring that CAPRILLICE CHEESES stand out in terms of both quality and safety, and distinguishing them from other products on the market, thus providing quality assurance.

The World Cheese Awards international championship honours the best cheeses in the world for their quality and flavour. Thanks to our effort and continuous improvement we have received two prizes of distinction. A super gold medal for our hard goat’s cheese and a silver medal for the rosemary cheese.
